City Event | Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program – March 30, 2026

The Economic Opportunity Authority (EOA) for Savannah-Chatham County is providing an additional opportunity for residents of Pooler to receive energy assistance on Monday, March 30, 2026, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Pooler City Hall.

This assistance is offered through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which is designed to help low-income households with their energy costs, particularly during the winter months. The program aims to ensure that eligible families, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and young children, do not face financial hardship in heating and cooling their homes.

Appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To qualify for assistance, a household’s annual income must meet the LIHEAP Eligibility Guidelines, which take into account household size and income. To apply, please bring the following documents:

  • Current light & gas bill, unless total electric (showing the amount owed)
  • Social Security card for each member of the household
  • Photo ID for the applicant
  • Proof of income for the last 30 days for each adult in the household (can include, but is not limited to, a 2026 Social Security Award Letter, a paycheck stub, a letter granting public assistance, or unemployment benefits for all applicable household members)

For a smooth and efficient application process, applicants are encouraged to bring printed copies or photocopies of their documents, as opposed to images displayed on a phone, to help expedite processing.

Please note that this event is limited to residents of Pooler only. If you have any questions or need assistance with the application process, please contact Art Best at 912-238-2960, extension 132.
