With freezing temperatures expected over the long weekend, City of Pooler crews were up early to proactively brine bridges throughout the city. As they are exposed to cold on all sides, bridges tend to freeze faster than regular roads. This preventative measure can help prevent ice from forming on the roadway surface, reducing slick road conditions before they even develop.
Residents are advised to drive carefully and reduce early morning travel when possible. City staff are actively monitoring forecasts.
