The City of Pooler has begun preliminary work on a nearly $4.4 million roadway improvement project at Pine Barren Road and Pooler Parkway, following City Council approval in December.
The project will expand approximately 3,200 linear feet of roadway and includes the construction of new intersection signals, sidewalks, a multi-use trail, and drainage improvements allowing for better traffic flow and pedestrian access, while preparing for long-term infrastructure needs.
Preliminary site work is expected to have minimal impact on traffic. More significant construction activity is currently anticipated to occur closer to the end of the school year; however, residents should be aware that traffic patterns may change as the work schedule progresses.
