Prepare Disaster Supplies

Keep at least a three day supply of non-perishable food, water, and essential medications for each member of your household, including pets. Store more water than needed if possible. Be prepared for the possibility that electricity and water service could be unavailable for weeks. Have extra cash on hand, along with a battery powered radio and flashlights.

Have an Evacuation Plan

Know beforehand your evacuation destination. Storm impact projections can change so plan for alternatives as well. If you own a car, keep the gas tank full when an evacuation appears likely. During emergencies, gas stations may be closed or unable to pump fuel due to power outages.
