Weather Event | Stormwater Update – Wet Weather Continues

As summer winds down, coastal Georgia experiences a seasonal shift marked by intense afternoon thunderstorms. These storms often build quickly in the heat of the day, bringing heavy rainfall, strong winds, and occasional lightning. Though typically brief, these downpours have the potential to overwhelm stormwater systems, especially in low-lying areas, and increase the risk of localized flooding.

While we continue to experience these weather patterns, the City’s Stormwater Department is actively monitoring conditions throughout Pooler. Our crews are working diligently, inspecting stormwater systems, addressing localized concerns, and staying vigilant in known trouble spots.
