01/22/2025 @ 16:29 – LIHEAP EVENT POSTPONED: Due to adverse weather, the LIHEAP event scheduled for Friday, January 24 is being postponed. The City will work with the EOA to reschedule the event for a later date when conditions are safer. We will share updated details as soon as they are available.
The Economic Opportunity Authority (EOA) for Savannah-Chatham County will be providing energy assistance to residents of Pooler on Friday, January 24, 2025, beginning at 9:00 a.m. at City Hall. This assistance is offered through the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP), which is designed to help low-income households with their energy costs, particularly during the winter months. The program aims to ensure that eligible families, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, and young children, do not face a financial hardship in keeping their homes heated.
Appointments will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. To qualify for assistance, a household’s annual income must meet the LIHEAP Eligibility Guidelines, which take into account household size and income. To apply, please bring the following documents:
- Current light & gas bill, unless total electric (showing the amount owed)
- Social Security card for each member of the household
- Photo ID for the applicant
- Proof of income for the last 30 days for each adult in the household (e.g., pay stubs, Social Security benefits, unemployment benefits)
If you have any questions or need assistance with the application process, please contact Art Best at 912-238-2960. Pooler City Hall is located at 100 US Highway 80 SW, Pooler, GA 31322.
