LOCATION OF MINOR DISCHARGE: Manhole near intersection of Jimmy DeLoach Parkway and Gazelle Ln., Pooler, GA.
CAUSE OF DISCHARGE: The cause of the discharge was a broken 2″ force main pipe.
ESTIMATED DISCHARGE: Unknown
RECEIVING WATERS: Drainage ditch contiguous to the City’s storm water system.
CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN: Broken pipe was repaired. Vac Truck was utilized to recover approximately 4000 gallons of contaminated stormwater and returned to the collection system for treatment.
SPILL STATUS: Sewage is no longer leaking
CORRECTIVE ACTION TAKEN TO PREVENT FUTURE DISCHARGE: Pipe material was replaced with more durable and steel pipe to prevent future breaks.
